KIM appraises Union Minister, Chairman JIC

Kuki Inpi Manipur, the apex body of the Kuki community, today met Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State for DoNER and Prime Minister Office and RN Ravi, Chairman, Joint Intelligence Committee at Old Secretariat (South Block) Conference Hall.
Presenting Kuki a traditional waistcoat and necktie to the Union Minister and Chairman JIC, Kuki Inpi Manipur president Thangkhosei Haokip and general secretary Khaimang Chongloi highlighted various issues, particularly those of the Kuki community.
The Kuki Inpi leaders while condemning the deadly ambush on the Indian army at Chandel which claimed the lives of 18 Indian army personnel and severely injured others, condoled the death of the soldiers who sacrificed their precious life for maintaining peace and law and order in Manipur and shared the grief and pain of the deceased families.
The KIM leaders appealed the two Central leaders to ensure safety of innocent civilians, particularly the affected villagers, during the operation carried out against the militants after the fatal ambush.
They also apprised KIM's stand points to Dr Jitendra and RN Ravi.
It is very demoralizing to the Kuki people that no political dialogue has been accomplished till now with the Kuki UGs who are under SoO since signing a tripartite agreement with the Government of India and the State Government in 2008, said the two Kuki leaders while urging the Government for early political dialogue with the Kuki UGs under SoO.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the Kuki people for extendign SoO for a period of one year with UPF, they urged the Govt to extend the pact with the KNO too.
