NIA probes Black Day call, conducts raid

Imphal, October 15 2022:
A special team of National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids at eight different locations across the state on Saturday morning and seized several documents.
According to a reliable source, the raid was conducted in connection with a case registered against eight arrested cadres of RPF/PLA at their respective houses and it was related with declaration of National Black Day on October 15 by different underground groups operating in Manipur.
The source further informed that the special NIA team conducted raid at the residence of Shamurailatpam Akash alias Muston, son of Rajaswor of Kakching Wairi Bamon Leikai, who is a cadre of RPF/PLA and currently in NIA custody.
The same NIA team also raided the residences of arrested RPF/PLA cadres namely Moirangthem Jitesh alias Yuremba, son of Sanjit of Kakching Ningthou Leikai; Salam Mangijao, son of late Tombi of Kakching Wairi Salam Leikai; and Naorem Re stafen, son of Brojen of Kakching Wairi Tanky Leikai.
Another team of NIA also searched the houses of arrested RPF/PLA cadres identified as Konjengbam Rotnio alias Nongthon, son of Raghu of Sekmai Koujengleima Thanga Leikai and Naorem Manoj alias Pengsiba, son of Nobin of Patsoi Luker Mayai Leikai.
The source further informed that another special NIA team conducted raid at the residences of arrested RPF/PLA cadres namely Chingakham Basanta alias Khambaton, son of Ningthembi of Andro Nungyungbi Khuman and Phanjoubam Rabi alias Nanao alias Luwangba, son of Kula of Andro Labaochum Ching Leikai.
Several documents related with RPF/PLA were seized during these raids, the source added.
