Thadou Artistes sing for electrocuted victim at Kangpokpi

Generous and kind-hearted members of the Thadou Artistes' Association on Friday came out on the street in Kangpokpi town singing for the treatment of an electrocuted victim from Churachandpur district whose hands were both amputated at RIMS Hospital, Imphal.
A 29-year-old father of three sons and sole bread earner of the family, Sehkholun Kipgen, son of Mangsei Kipgen from Leijang Khopi in Churachandpur district got electrocuted on August 29 while constructing a house in his village.
Both his hands had been amputated as the burns owing to the electric shock had badly damaged all the veins and would have caused serious problems in the future.

After exhausting all their resources, the family has been facing acute financial problems for his treatment which is when they approached the Thadou Artistes' Association for help, said Hencha Sitlhou, president of Thadou Artistes' Association.
"The only thing we can do to help them is to seek public contribution by utilizing the talent that God has gifted to us and without hesitation from our soft-hearted & generous members, we organized a Charity Concert at the roadside in Kangpokpi town where people came forward to donate for the treatment of Sehkholun Kipgen", he added.
The Charity Concert moderated by Ngamminlun Bronson, general secretary of Thadou Artistes' Association at Kangpokpi downtown IT Road Bazar and Kangpokpi Main Bazar earned sympathy from all corners and generated Rs 52,000 for the electrocuted victim.
Local journalist Kaybie Chongloi, Admins of the Kanggui Post, a leading WhatsApp group in the district also jumped in to assist the Thadou Artistes' Association apart from the Kangpokpi Town Committee, Kangpokpi Youth Union, and Kangpokpi Women Welfare Organization.
Kangpokpi police also helped the Charity Concert organisers in monitoring smooth traffic flow during the concert.
The charity concert culminated with a prayer from Thangcha Kipgen, one of the Admins of Kanggui Post.
Later, members of Thadou Artistes' Association led by its president and general secretary handed over the donated amount to the victim's family at RIMS Hospital, Imphal.
