Awareness on "Safety & Professional Health Hazard" held

Senapati District Drivers' Welfare Union (SDDWU) today organised a 1-day awareness programme on "Safety and Professional Health Hazard" at Tadubi Town Hall, Senapati District.
It was attended by District Transport Officer (DTO), Joseph D Sankhil; Senapati Additional SP, M L Kaisungbou; Dr L Kaini, Medical Officer, PHC Tadubi; and K Adahrii, spokesperson Senapati District Truck Owners Association (SDTOA) as resource persons.
At the event, Joseph D Sankhil delivered a lecture on the topic, "Mandatory Knowledge" .
He advised the drivers to renew vehicle documents and driving license to avoid penalties and fines while stating that one must hold a valid & genuine driving license according to the type of vehicle they drive.
The DTO also urged all to always wear seatbelt, avoid distractions, not to cross speed limits, service cars regularly, follow traffic signals, maintain lane discipline, be more careful during bad weather and maintain a safe distance.
"We should be more careful in purchasing second hand vehicles by checking all the documents and while purchasing any vehicle from outside the State", he asserted.
M L Kaisungbou also delivered a lecture on the topic, "Rules and Penalty" while Dr L Kaini spoke on "First aid and trauma" and K Adahrii on "Healthy relationship between owners and drivers" .
Later, a mini health camp was conducted wherein a medical team led by Dr Kaini provided Blood Pressure test, Sugar test and vision screening to more than 70 participants including drivers, CSO leaders and villagers.
