Imphal, July 17 2019:
Coming out strongly against the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur on reports of 'irregularities' in the results of the HSLC Examination which was declared recently, the DESAM (Democratic Students Alliance of Manipur) today gave 3 days time to the board to take up certain corrective measures and made public the report of an enquiry committee set up to look into the conduct of the examination in 2018 .
It may be noted that there were reports of first division students being positioned under the top 25 positions after re-evaluation of their answer papers and DESAM has been demanding re-evaluation of the answer papers of all the candidates this year.

Speaking to media persons during a discussion/meeting at Manipur Press Club, Imphal, DESAM's top executives said that DESAM was denied report/details of the enquiry committee set up to look into the conduct of the HSLCE in 2018 even after it had filed RTI.
Condemning the failure of the authority concerned to provide the report of the enquiry committee, DESAM executives said they are suspicious of 'gross irregularities' in the conduct of the board and authorities concerned in the matter.
The discussion was called to discuss the various 'discrepancies' in the results of the HSLC Examination 2018 and 2019 which made headlines in local papers.
Concrete steps are needed to check such 'misconduct' on the part of the board, said DESAM secretary general Sital Oinam.
Lamenting that the 'discrepancies' have maligned the image and damaged the trust people have in the board, Sital said that DESAM has decided to act and is demanding re-evaluation of the answer papers of all the students appeared in the 2019 examination.
Reply should be given to all the students who filed RTI seeking details of the results, Sital said.
Urging the authorities concerned to give positive response within 3 days time, Sital cautioned that DESAM will take out strong agitations if its demands are not paid heed.
Retired HOD of Mathematics, DM College, H Jayenta, All Manipur Recognised Private Schools' Welfare Association (AMRPSWA) advisor N Tomba, BOSEM ex-Chairman P Dhanakumar, Andro Students Union secretary Sumati Shougrakpam, DESAM president Salam Akash and others members attended the meeting.
