Drug king pin held, heroin seized

Imphal, May 25 2018:
Narcotic and Affairs of Border (NAB) Manipur arrested four individuals, including an IRB personnel and a Myanmar National, along with 1 kg of heroin worth around Rs 1 crore from Nungourok village of Tengnoupal district today evening.
Briefing media persons at his office chamber, W Basu SP, NAB, Manipur, stated that acting on specific information about the presence of drug dealers in and around Nungourok village, Pallel (under Tengnoupal district) a team of NAB Manipur rushed to the village and launched a surprise raid in some suspected houses.
During the raid, four individuals, including a drug king pin (a Myanmar National) was arrested along with three others who came to buy the drugs from him, from a rented house.
NAB Manipur recovered 1 kg of heroin from the house as well.
The arrested drug king pin has been identified as Aung Pyi (50) s/o Chit Aung of Kachin State, Momkying village (Myanmar) and the others have been identified as Mopung Khulpuwa (32) s/o Kh Khonai of Kambang Khullen, Tengnoupal (presently staying at Khukandang, Pallel) who is also a personnel of 3rd IRB Wangbal, Theophilus Kabai (40) s/o Kabhung Kabai of Ukhrul district and H Inao Meitei (48) s/o Khamba Meitei of Bamon Kampu Mayai Leikai who is also a lab attendant at Horticulture and Soil Conservation Department.
The SP further said that NAB also seized one Alto car (MNQ5.A-5703), one Kenbo bike without any registration number and four mobile phones along with sim cards.
A case has been registered against the four for taking up necessary legal action under ND&PS Act.
Investigation is underway to arrest other people if any in connection with the case, the SP added.
