7th Pay demand strike enters 65 day

Imphal, May 25 2018:
Indefinite cease work strike demanding implementation of the 7th Pay Commission in the state launched by the Joint Administrative Council (JAC) of All Manipur Trade Unions' Council (AMTUC) and All Manipur Government Employees' Organisation (AMGEO), enters 65 days today.
Employees of DC Office, Imphal West staged sit-in-protest at their office complex, today.
Speaking to media persons, K Tikendra Singh, Labour Inspector, Labour Department said that so far no positive solution has been forwarded from the government side regarding the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission.
In condemnation of non-implementation of the commission, joint government employees of 14 department sections of Imphal West DC have staged the sit-in-protest, he added.
Tikendra also said that the government employees wants the commission to be implemented at the earliest from the government side as most of the states in India including neighbouring North-East states have already implemented the commission except for Manipur which is a big disappointment for the state employees as well as being an Indian citizens.
Tikendra further said that their demands for the implementation of 7th Pay Commission in the is legitimate and hope it will be implemented as the Centre government and State government is rule by the BJP government and most of the states rule by BJP the 7th pay has already implemented.
The employees appeals the state government to bring out positive solution for implementing the 7th pay commission in the states but if fails the employees will support any steps taken up by the JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO, Tikendra asserts.
