Imphal, April 05 2020:
Police has arrested one Yumnam Devajit Singh for allegedly circulating false alarm in connection with the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to switch off lights at 9 pm for 9 minutes across the country today.
On social media, he had shared a voice message of him comparing the PM's call to switch off lights with 'nuclear explosion' .
In the voice recording, he urged people not to follow the advice of the Prime Minister.
He was arrested for circulating false alarm and creating panic under Section 51(b) and 54 of the Disaster Management Act 2005, said a statement of K Meghachandra Singh, SP, Imphal West district.
