Lilong under active surveillance

As many as 10 teams of the Health Department have been mounting active surveillance within 3 Km radius of Lilong Turel Ahanbi where the State's second COVID-19 positive case was confirmed.
A high ranking official of the Health Department said that active surveillance is underway in and around Lilong Turel Ahanbi area and it would continue for 28 days as per guidelines.
For 28 days, no one would be allowed to move in or out of the cordoned off area.
Under the 10 teams, there are four sub-teams each and these sub-teams have been keeping surveillance over 30 households each.
They would continue to look out for any symptom of COVID-19 in any household under surveillance during the surveillance period of 28 days.
On the other hand, the Union Cabinet Secretary held a video conference with Chief Secretaries of States at 10.30 am today and discussed about the COVID-19 containment measures taken up by State Governments.
The conference also discussed about what the State Governments should do after completion of the lockdown period.
JNIMS Director Th Bhimo informed that the woman from Thangmeiband Lourungpurel Leikai who happens to be the State's first COVID-19 positive case was shifted to general ward today and she would undergo another test tomorrow.
Samples of 21 co-passengers of the woman and one staff of JNIMS were tested today and all of them turned out to be negative for COVID-19, said the Director.
