Medicines distributed to patients; edibles in C-zones, homes

Imphal, July 02 2021:
All Manipur Kidney Transplant Patients' Welfare Association has distributed medicines to Kidney Transplant Patients (KTP) on Friday.
In a release, the Association informed that the medicines were procured from KTP Covid-19 Relief Fund formed under the Association and distributed among the patients for the first phase.
The medicines were distributed to 25 patients, who are registered and are from more vulnerable
families, for the first phase.
The medicines will be distributed to the patients in a phased manner, the release continued, while urging the members to submit the names of medicines used by the patients.
On the other hand, social worker Kharibam Jivan of Charangpat on Friday distributed edibles to households in Charangpat Gram Panchayat Ward No.6, needy households and families in Haokha Mamang and families under containment zones in Tangjeng under Wangkhem assembly constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, Kharibam Jivan appealed to the people to get vaccinated to rid the state of Covid-19 pandemic and return to normal life.
Rotary Club of Imphal also donated edible items to three destitute homes in connection with COVID-19 pandemic and Rotary New Year celebration on Friday.
According to a statement of the Club, edible items like rice, potato and others along with hand sanitizers and face masks were donated to Punya home, Thangmeiband, Old age home, Mongsangei and Old age home, Kongba as part of Rotary New Year 2021-2022 celebration since Thursday.
Inmates of the homes were encouraged to maintain Covid appropriate behaviour while handing over the items.
Meanwhile, Noney Battalion of 22 Sector Assam Rifles/IGAR (East) distributed essential commodities to needy people of Ijerong village in Noney district on Friday.
In a release, the battalion informed that essential commodities were distributed to the needy people of Ijerong village living below the poverty line to meet their daily needs with an aim to foster the bond of humanity between the local populace and Security Forces and also to promote and strengthen peace and harmony in the region.
The people were also educated about the importance of COVID-19 vaccination and precautionary measures.
A lecture was also conducted on COVID Appropriate Behaviour regarding wearing of face mask, maintaining social distancing, hand sanitisation and general hygiene.
Adequate COVID-19 measures were followed during the event, the release added.
Imphal West district administration and People's Task Force for Covid-19 also distributed face masks and hand sanitizers to Covid Task Force units in Imphal West including Keishamthong Kendra Ward number 9 Covid Task Force, Covid Task Force Keishamthong Moirang Ningthou Leirak, Young Citizen Social Club Haobam Marak Kangjam Leikai, Social Workers' Club Heirangoithong, Malom Covid Warriors and Elangbam Leikai Youth Club.
