13 deaths, 656 more cases reported
69 samples confirmed as Delta variant

Imphal, July 02 2021:
High positivity rate, triple digit spike in new cases and deaths in double digit continue to mark Manipur on the Covid map with 656 persons including five security personnel testing positive in the last 24 hours.
The State also reported 13 deaths in the same period of time and the daily positivity rate has been pegged at 13.6 percent.
IDSP Manipur has also reported that swabs collected from 69 individuals have been confirmed for the Delta variant of the coronavlrus.
This is besides the 18 cases which were reported positive for the variant earlier .
Quoting a report from the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee, the COVID-19 Common Control Room said that 13 people passed away due to Covid in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative number of deaths to 1175.The deceased persons belonged to Imphal East (3), Imphal West (5), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (1), Kakching (1) and Chandel (1) .
They passed away at RIMS (4), JNIMS (4), Raj Medicity (2) and Shija Hospital (3) .
Out of the 651 civilians who tested positive in the last 24 hours, 392 were females, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
The 651 positive cases from amongst the civil population are from Imphal East (104), Imphal West (212), Thoubal (73), Bishnupur (101), Kakching (53), Ukhrul (4), Churachandpur (60), Chandel (12), Senapati (7), Tamenglong (1), Tengnoupal (5), Kamjong (1), Pherzawl (9), Jiribam (1), Noney (2) and Kangpokpi (6).With 656 more cases reported, the cumulative number of positive cases now stands at 70,954 including 3848 Central security personnel.
The total of 656 including the security personnel returned positive results out of 4817 people tested,' taking the positivity rate to 13.6 percent.
On the other hand, a total of 603 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours from home isolation (287), RIMS (16), JNIMS (10), CCCs (139) and CHICs (151) .
The recovery rate stands at 89.93 percent with the cumulative number of recovered cases put at 63,809 including 3781 Central security personnel.
On July 1, 15,485 people were administered the Covid vaccine and the total number of people who have been inoculated is 6,82,110 and out of this 84,631 have received their second dose.
In the last 24 hours, 2038 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 493 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the State.
