Minister Awangbow assures development in Tousem

A team of Tousem Area Students' Organisation met forest, environment & climate change minister Awangbou Newmai on Friday to discuss long pending issues regarding development works in Tousem Sub-Division.
During the meeting, the Tousem students' body urged the minister to expedite the process of shifting the administrative office of the Sub Divisional Officer to the district headquarters and set up measures to initiate necessary administrative works at the headquarters itself without further delay.
The team highlighted the difficulties faced by the people due to the absence of banking facilities and inaccessibility of internet in the area.
In response, minister Awangbou gave his assurance of finding the possible means available to solve the persistent problems.
On the development of infrastructure and ongoing development works, the minister assured that he would look into the matter and see that they are properly monitored and constructed satisfactorily.
Representatives of the students' body also apprised Awangbou Newmai of the sheer necessity of deploying police personnel in the headquarters so as to resolve various matters and asked him to ensure the deputed personnel are stationed at their outpost.
While emphasising the importance of road connectivity between Tousem and Tamenglong, and Tousem and Kaiphundai, the minister gave his assurance of providing financial support and feasible means for repairing the damaged areas and make the roads motorable within the month of July while pursuing the pending projects.
