Various organisations have condemned the attack on Sheikh Abdul Hakim (MCS) yesterday while he was coming back from Noney.
Manipur Civil Service Association said in a statement issued today that the attack on a civil servant who is serving the State with utmost dedication and was carrying out his duty diligently was an act of cowardice.
Sheikh Abdul Hakim had recently taken charge as ADC (Noney) and SDO/BDO as per Government order date January 14 and on the day of the incident he was returning to Imphal from Noney when some unidentified armed personnel fired upon his vehicle when they were approaching Tupul, said the statement.
They drove straight to the camp of E-company 86 Battalion CRPF at Tupul and escaped unscathed, added the statement.
Different organisations including Youth Development Committee (YDC); Rural Area's United Club Organisation (RAUCO); Manipur Muslim Welfare Organisation (MMWO); All Manipur Muslim Girl Students' Union (AMMGSU); All Manipur Muslim Art and Cultural Organisation (AMMACO); The All India Tanzeem-e-Insaaf (AITI); United Pangal Council (UPC); Muslim Council Manipur (MCM) and others condemned the attack and demanded immediate action against the unknown assailants in different statements issued today.
In another instance, Pongringlong (Charoipandongba) village authority also condemned and sought clarification on the incident.
