Speaker Y Khemchand extends assistance to EMA Foundation

Assembly Speaker Y Khemchand Singh visited the EMA Foundation, an orphanage located at New Keithelmanbi and interacted with the children of the orphanage.
EMA Foundation houses 17.children, all students of Assam Rifles Public School, who are supported by Keithelmanbi Sector Assam Rifles in meeting its essential requirements regularly, said a statement issued by PRO Assam Rifles.
Assam Rifles has been extending administrative support to the children of the foundation and assistance in terms of essential commodities, health and hygiene items are periodically provided to the home, added the statement.
During the event organized by Keithelmanbi Battalion, the Speaker was welcomed with a heartful song by the children which was followed by a small cake cutting ceremony and interaction with staff and children, added the statement.
The statement added that the Speaker and his wife had a long interaction with the children where he acquainted himself with the challenges being faced by the children and the management of EMA foundation and promised to look into their grievances and provide necessary support to the children.
The Speaker also gave gifts and financial assistance for the orphanage and appreciated Assam Rifles for all the efforts put in by the force to ameliorate the hardships of the underprivileged section of the society, especially last year during the period of the COVID -19 pandemic, added the statement.
