Tension grips JNIMS

Tension gripped Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), Imphal after a 36 year old woman died there due to alleged medical negligence.
The deceased has been identified as Oinam Sashibala alias Nanao, wife of Oinam Ojit of Leishangthem Awang Leikai, Thoubal.
Following the demise of Sashibala, her family members'approached the hospital and demanded punishment of the 'erring' doctor.
Speaking to media persons, Naorem Sandhyarani, elder sister of Sashibala, said that her sister was admitted at JNIMS on January 29 and surgically delivered a baby on January 31 at around 1 pm.
After the delivery, she was taken to Special Ward due to urinary tract infection and the doctor put the deceased on dialysis two times claiming kidney ailments.
The doctor later claimed that she had a heart problem, she claimed.
Saying that her sister had no ailments and went through surgical delivery following the advice of a doctor she consulted, Sandhyarani demanded the authority concerned to take befitting action against the erring medical practitioner at the earliest.
