Jiribam, June 19 2014:
Jiribam being located 223 km away from Imphal, Community Health Centre (CHC) Jiribam stands as the only reliable health care centre not only for the people of Jiribam sub-division, but also for the neighboring districts of Tamenglong, Churachandpur and Cachar District of Assam, a press release from CHC Jiribam said.
Reacting to the allegation made by an unknown Lup of Jiribam, the CHC in a statement said, 'referring to the unfortunate demise of a patient who had been referred from the CHC and raising questions against the conduct of doctors and staffs are unreasonable' .
As soon as the report on RBS came, necessary medications and advice were conveyed.
In the evening, the patient's condition became deteriorated and immediate available necessary interventions were also taken up, the release recounted.
As the condition did not improve, the family of the patient was informed and had been advised for referral to the higher centre as the CHC lacks necessary emergency facilities, it continued.
It is well known that the CHC has been running without a driver since the regular driver passed away, and it also suffers from shortage of staff, said the release, while appealing to all the people of Jiribam to co-operate for its well functioning in-spite of the shortcomings.
Further the CHC Staff also deeply mourned the untimely demise of the patient, the statement added.
