Kangpokpi, June 19 2014:
All Tribal Students' Union Manipur (ATSUM) today put off its proposed felicitation programme for successful tribal candidates of MPSCCE-2013 to June 27 at Classic Hotel, Imphal.
It was earlier scheduled to be held on June 23 .
Meanwhile, the tribal students' apex body lauded the State Govt.for finally introducing the Manipur Education Service (MES).
Education Secretary of ATSUM, Kakam Haokip said the proposed felicitation programme of successful tribal candidates of MPSCCE-2013 has been postponed to June 27 due to unavoidable circumstances.
While regretting for not able to inform personally regarding the matter, ATSUM appealed to all the successful candidates and invitees to attend the programme on June 27 at the same venue and time.
Recalling that at CAUCAS 2005 held at Churachandpur ATSUM had urged the state Govt.to introduce Manipur Education Service so as to avoid room for corruption in recruitment of teachers and that only qualified will be recruited, Kakam Haokip, on behalf of ATSUM, lauded the State Govt.for finally introducing the Manipur Education Service in the State.
However, ATSUM would have been more satisfied had the Government bifurcates the recently introduced MES into two separate services viz.
Manipur Hills Education Service (MHES) and Manipur Valley Education Service (MVES) so that there will be no transfer and posting problems, the ATSUM Education Secretary noted, while adding that the teachers recruited for Manipur Hills Education Service will be posted in the Hills till retirement and vice versa, if it is bifurcated.
