The gunmen reportedly opened fire on suspicion.
Incidentally the KRA is a signatory of the SoO pact.
On the other hand the Kuki National Front, another signatory of the SoO pact has pointed the finger of accusation at the KRA and condemned the incident in the strongest terms.
In a statement, KNF's information and publicity secretary LH Stephen said that turning the guns against innocent civilians amounts to violating the ground rules of SoO.
The KRA cadres should be staying at their Gamnom camp at Saikul and not moving around with arms in the night, added the statement.
The very presence of KRA cadres in and around Mongbung village violates the ground rules of the SoO pact, maintained the KNF.
It went against the accepted ground rules for the KRA cadres to move around in the area with guns and weapons, said KNF and added that the matter should be looked into on a priority basis and the KRA cadres should be reined in.
Taking strong exception of the free movement given to KRA cadres outside their designated camp, the KNF urged the Central and State forces to immediately crack down on such activities which vitiates peace.
