Imphal, June 19 2014:
At a time when State unit of Trinamool Congress is reeling under leadership crisis with the party divided into two opposing groups, a man identified as Oinam Kabi of Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai has filed a complaint to Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly seeking disqualification of Kh Joykishan, MLA Thangmeiband A/C under 10th Scheduled Provision 2 (1) (A) of Indian Constitution.
The complaint statement mentioned that Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress was formed newly under the leadership of Joykishan though he contested the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly Election as a candidate of All India Trinamool Congress (AITC).
As the 10th Scheduled Provision 2 (1) (A) does not permit any political leader to form a new party while he is serving in his original party, Joykishan should be disqualified.
It stated that Joykishan is a voluntary membership of All India Trinamool Congress but he cannot be taken as subordinate constituent of AITC.
A copy of a disqualification case that occurred in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh in which two MLAs were disqualified by Speakers for forming new parties while they were serving in their original parties was also included in the complaint statement as an annexure.
Meanwhile, Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress Committee has formed the Thangmeiband Block Trinamool Congress Committee comprising of 15 members with B Gojen Sharma as its president.
