5 more FRCCs for minority students to open soon: Amin Shah

Acknowledging that the 12 Free Remedial Coaching Centres (FRCCs) for minority students have been productive so far, Parliamentary Secretary for Department for Welfare of Minorities and Other Backward Classes (MOBC), Amin Shah on Thursday announced that another five such centres will be opened soon.
Interview for recruitment of 115 teachers for the planned five Free Remedial Coaching Centres was held today.
Amin Shah personally visited the centre where the interview was conducted to oversee the process.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the visit, Amin said nine FRCCs for the minority students in standards VI-IX and another three for standards XI-XII were opened under Manipur Minorities and OBC Economic Development Society (MOBEDS) last year.
The overall performance of the students from these coaching centres has been encoursging so far, therefore, another five such centres will be set up soon, he said.
Amin informed that the proposed five coaching centre will be established at Mayang Imphal Bengoon in Imphal West, Keirang in Khurai in Imphal East, Lalpani in Jiribam subdivision in Imphal East, Kwakta Khuman in Moirang in Bishnupur district and Khetrigao in Imphal East.
Referring to the demand by students for extension of the period for scholarship form submission, he said MOBC needs approval from the concerned ministry in this regard.
All students can now simply withdraw their scholarship amount from their own bank accounts through the direct benefit transfer (DBT) system, he said.
He called upon all students entitled to scholarship benefit to visit his office and discuss any problem regarding alleged mismanagement in providing scholarships to students.
Amin said a committee under the supervision of the MOBC Director normally monitors the entire process for selection of scholarship beneficiaries.
