Cong seeks appointment to President on disqualification of 12 MLAs

Congress representation, from all Congress MLAs of Manipur, 12 MPs of Congress, AICC i/c Manipur, seeking urgent appointment with Rashtrapati ji on issue of the disqualification of the MLAs (Parliamentary Secretaries) was received by Rashtrapati Bhavan yesterday.
Congress has sought an urgent appointment with Rashtrapati ji (President of India) on issue of the disqualification of MLAs, who were appointed as Parliamentary Secretaries in Manipur.
The Rashtrapati Bhavan officially received the appointment sought by the Congress yesterday.
All Congress MLAs from Manipur, 12 Members of Parliament from Congress, AICC in-charge of Manipur Bhakta Charan Das, ex-MP signed the representation to the President.
MPs Mallikarjun Kharge, Ambika Soni, Deepender Singh Hooda, Jairam Ramesh, Vivek Tankha, Shaktisinh Gohil and other few MPs signed the representation.
The Congress MLAs also sought an urgent appointment with Governor of Manipur on the same issue but there has been no reply to the appointment from Raj Bhavan.
All the Congress MLAs led by former Chief Minister of Manipur & CLP Leader O Ibobi Singh and Manipur PCC President Govindas Konthoujam, MLA are in Delhi.
The Congress MLAs are having detailed legal and constitutional discussion on the issue with AICC legal team comprising Senior Advocates Kapil Sibal, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Vivek Tankha and Narinder Hooda.
The representation contained K.Meghachandra case of Supreme Court giving 4 weeks' outer limit to decide all pending disqualification matters, as the petition seeking the disqualification of the 12 MLAs on the grounds of office of profit under Article 191 & 192 of the Constitution of India to Governor has been lying for more than 4 months since 2020 October.
