The Kuki militants also burned down 30 houses as well as vehicles and other properties.
While some vehicles and other properties were burnt on the spot, some others were taken away by the suspected Kuki militants.
Sources said that Makui Pipuram village was completely looted and burnt down.
One Pastor sustained injuries in the attack but he is said to be out of danger.
The Tapon village chief had earlier sought protection from the CRPF post opened at Bunglabung Kuki village.
Villagers, however, alleged inaction by security forces despite assurances that permission would be sought from the camp commander.
As the situation escalated and neighbouring Naga villagers were reportedly unable to enter the Kuki-dominated areas surroun- ding Tapon, two CRPF Casspir vehicles reportedly moved from Chawangkining village towards the affected area.
Firing reportedly stopped after 10 am .
Tapon Liangmai Naga village comprises around 100 households.
However, a press release issued by the Working Committee, Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) said that as many as four Liangmai Naga villages in Kangpokpi district came under coordinated attacks from Kuki militant and narco-terrorist groups under the command of Jangboi Kipgen, home secretary of the Kuki National Front-President (KNF-P) in collusion with the Kuki National Army (KNA) in the early hours today.
One Luithuibou Newmai, Pastor of Tapon village Church was shot at and critically injured, while several houses of three Naga villages namely Makui Pipuram, Lower Tapon and Middle Tapon were completely burnt down to ashes.
As these three villages went up in flames, the Kuki militants were launching an offensive against the Upper Tapon village till early afternoon.
The Liangmai Nagas have been under a constant and series of attacks from the Kuki militant and narco-terrorist groups since the past few months.
The repetitive armed offensive within the jurisdiction of Kangpokpi is clearly intended to effect a demographic change.
The landless Kukis are utilising and employing this pattern of attacks to establish their hegemony over the ancestral land of the Nagas by uprooting Nagas from their homes, the TNL said.
In the wake of these existential threats, TNL Working Committee has reiterated its call for strengthening solidarity of all the Nagas living across the artificial territorial boundaries.
"The Nagas must shed their temporal and ideological differences, and stand up together to protect our God given land, identity and people", it said.
While strongly condemning the acts of terror perpetrated by the Kuki militant and narco-terrorist groups, the TNL has denounced the inaction of the Governments to rein in the Kuki cadres operating under the Suspension of Operation (SoO) agreement.
"The Nagas are closely watching the unprovoked and relentless offences being carried out against us in our land.
It will be the sole responsibility of the State and Central Governments if the situation escalates beyond control", it added.
The Naga Tapon Village Authority has condemned the attacks today, demanding immediate and permanent deployment of security forces in the affected Naga villages, and urging the Government to launch an impartial investigation and combing operations to apprehend the armed persons involved in the attacks.
The affected villages must also be compensated adequately for their losses, it said.
