Ahead of the commencement of the celebration of 75 years of India's Independence 'Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav', Chief Minister N Biren greeted the people on the occasion and said, 'Let us celebrate this milestone in the history of our Nation by paying tribute to our martyrs and resolve to build an India of their dreams.
And as the citizens of this great country participate in celebrating our freedom and the various ideals enshrined in the Constitution of India' .
In his message he said that the celebration will be commencing 75 weeks prior to Independence Day 2022 and will extend upto Independence Day, 2023 and the celebration will be launched at Sabarmati Ashram, Dandi on March 12, 2021 which is the anniversary of the launch of Dandi March.
It may be mentioned that the celebration will be divided into five aspects- Freedom Struggle, Ideas at 75, Achievements at 75, Actions at 75 and Resolve at 75 .
The commemorations will include 75 events for 75 weeks with one prominent event every week and the programmes will be planned at 75 places or monuments of historical significance spread across States and Union Territories.
