Training programme on 'Advance Intellectual Property Rights' inaugurated

A two day training programme on 'Advanced Intellectual Property Rights' was inaugurated today at Banquet hall of 1st MR.The training programme jointly organised by Manipur Police Training College and Intellectual Property Rights chair, West Bengal National University of Juridicial Sciences (NUJS) was attended by Ashutosh Kumar Sinha, ADGP (Intelligence); L Kailun, ADGP (Training); Prof Pinaki Ghosh and Dr Jayenta Ghosh from NUJS as presidium members.
Speaking at the inaugural function, ADGP L Kailun said Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) has been a hot topic in other industrialised states but is relatively a new topic in Manipur.
However, the state will start seeing crimes related to IPR in near future as the state is moving forth in all developmental spheres with various startups and innovative ideas, he added.
In view of this, it is necessary for the Police force to be made accustomed to special laws and act to deal with white collar crimes and the training programme is an initiative taken up to meet that challenge, he added.
He also urged all the officers attending the training programme to take benefit from the experts present at the programme.
