Day after banning Thabal Chongba, Shumang Lila Govt issues Yaoshang SOPs

Imphal, March 11 2021:
A day after the Government banned "Thabal Chongba" and "Jatrawali" (Shumang Lila), it has released SOPs (standard operating procedures) to contain spread of COVID-19 during Yaoshang Sports/Festival.
The advisory has restricted blocking roads for monetary subscription and spraying/applying colours on others during the festival.
Advisory on Yaoshang Sports
All form of contact sports events shall not be organised (example-3-legged race, cock fighting, wrestling, boxing, football, tug of war, basketball etc), said the advisory.
Further, separate entry and exit points should be maintained in the entire sports arena.
All participants and spectators shall wear face masks and maintain social distancing throughout the event.
Children below 5-years of age should be accompanied by a guardian at all times.
Sports participants may remove masks only at the start of the event and wear them again once the event/competition is over.
Sports organisers shall ensure availability of hand washing facilities/hand sanitisers, face masks etc during the sports events.
Spitting shall be strictly prohibited in and around the play field and work-out areas.
All sports events/competitions/prize distributions shall not be allowed after 6 pm on all days.
The size of the crowd/gathering should be restricted to a maximum of 100 persons at all times.
Every club/organising committee should have a dedicated COVID-19 Task Team to regulate the advisory during the event hours and display the COVID-19 Emergency/Helpline Numbers.
Advisory for outside sports arena
Movement of overcrowded vehicles shall not be allowed - 4 wheeler vehicles shall carry only 4 persons while 2-wheeler vehicles shall carry not more than two persons during Yaoshang.
No overcrowding of vehicles shall be allowed at oil pumps for fuelling.
Road blockade enforced with/without ropes across the road for monetary subscriptions shall not be allowed.
Spraying/applying colours on others (known/unknown) shall not be allowed.
Torch lighting relay Social distancing should be maintained at Torch lighting relay at Kangla or other locations.
A maximum of only 20 persons shall be allowed inside Kangla for getting torch.
