The United NGOs Mission Manipur (UNMM) has expressed serious concern over lost of 44 lives in the ongoing clash between Bodos and Bengali speaking Muslims in Kokrajhar and Chirang districts of Assam.
In a statement, Co-ordinator of UNMM L Kabindra pointed out that apart from the 44 precious lives lost, nearly 2 lakh people are taking shelter in 150 relief camps while 11 others are reported missing.
The violence has spread to Dubri district of Assam and might spread to other parts also.
The statement also urged the Union Government, State Government of Assam and other concerned persons/groups to do something urgently as the situation is very tense out there.
