Imphal, July 27, 2012:
Peeved over making Heinoubok area a killing field, residents of Heinoubok village in Imphal West district staged a sit-in protest today under the aegis of Heinoubok Women's Welfare Association.
The protest was staged against the backdrop of the killing of a suspected underground in the area by team of Imphal West district police commandos in the night of July 25. According to Yumnam Lalita, secretary of Heinoubok Women's Welfare Association, there have been several instances of people being killed in the area in the past while urging all concerned not to turn the area into a killing field.
