CRPF celebrates 73rd Raising Day

The 69 Bn CRPF today celebrated 73rd Raising Day of CRPF at its Mantripukhri headquarters with Commandant Rakesh Kumar Singh unfurling the Force's flag at the unit Quarter Guard.
The anniversary celebration was also held at Langjing Camp where CRPF, Manipur and Nagaland Sector Inspector General SP Singh honoured officers and men with the.

Deputy Commandant RV Philip, and Assistant Commandants DS Rana and Devesh Kumar of 69 Bn were also decorated with disc for their commendable work done during State assembly election, said a 69 BN statement.
Addressing the troops on the occasion SP Singh lauded the contribution of force since the Hot spring incident of October 21.1959 - a heroic day observed all over India as "Police Commemoration day" on account of the sacrifice of CRPF soldiers while resisting Chinese aggression.
He also mentioned present contribution of CRPF in areas affected by left wing extremism and extremism in restoring peace and exhorted officers and jawans to work even more harder and to live up to the guiding spirit of the Force.
It is said that CRPF was "raised as the 'Crown Representative Police' on this day at Neemuch, in Mandsaur district of Madhya Pradesh and became the Central Reserve Police Force on enactment of the CRPF Act on December 28th, 1949. CRPF is regarded as one of the most efficient agencies to handle the internal security of the country and is serving the Nation with the basic role of striking reserve to assist the States in police operations to maintain law and order.
The Force has an all India in character, both in deployment and in its composition, the statement highlighted adding that due to its unique capability to quickly adapt to various situational requirements, and also work in perfect harmony with the State police, CRPF has over the years acquired the distinction of being perhaps the most acceptable Force, by the people and State administrations.
One of the vital roles of the CRPF is guarding vital installations and in Imphal, troops of 69 Bn is guarding banks, important offices, RIMS Hospital, etc.
Over the past three years, 69 Bn has been actively involved in organising Civic Action Programme (Humanitarian Programme) benefiting the people of Manipur, organisations, communities and institutions by providing skill training, distributing computers, books, TV, musical instruments, support for physically handicapped and other differently abled.
Commandant Rakesh Kumar further pledged that many more such humanitarian issues will be taken care of under the guidance of IGP SP Singh in the near future.
