Mass prayer and blessing rally for State Olympians held

Imphal, July 27 2012:
A mass prayer and bless wishing rally for the five Manipuri Olympians representing India in the London Olympic, 2012 were held here today.
A large number of players, coaches and the people of the state participated in these two events.
The bless wishing rally, which was organized by SAI SAG, Khuman Lampak kick-started from SAI SAG Centre, Khuman Lampak.
The rallyists marched through New Checkon crossing, Minuthong, Konung Mamang, Sanjenthong, Kalimai Mamang, Keishampat Bridge, Waheng leikai, BT Road, in front of GM Hall, Khuyathong, Lilasing Khongnangkhong, Chingmeirong Junction, Dingku Road and finally reassembled at SAI SAG Centre, Khuman Lampak.
Speaking to mediapersons on the sidelines of the rally, Fransis Marwin, Director of SAI NERC, said that as Manipuris we are proud that 5 of our players are participating in the London Olympics, 2012 which commenced from today.
We all hope and pray that the five players do exceedingly well in their respective disciplines and bring glory to the state and nation.

Dronacharya awardee, L Ibomcha said that the five Olympians of the state have not been selected for the London Olympics just like that.
It is because of their hard work and sincerity under the guidance of their coaches that they have been able to participate in the Olympics.
As such future players of the state should also strive to succeed with an aim in heart with strict discipline all the way.

At the end of the rally, all the participants also observed a one-minute silence and prayed for the success of the five state Olympians.
The Manipur Olympic Association (MOA) also conducted a mass prayer for the success of the five Olympians of the state.
The mass prayer was attended by H Deleep, Director of Youth Affairs and Sports; coaches, officials, players of National Sports Academy, students and members of other various associations.
