CRPF celebrates 73rd raising day

Imphal, July 27 2012:
69 BN CRPF celebrated 73rd raising day of CRPF at Mantripukhri in a colorful traditional ceremony.
On the occasion, Commandant Rakesh Kumar Singh unfurled the Flag of Force at Quarter Guard and spoke on the wonderful journey of 73 years of CRPF.
Inspector General, Manipur and Nagaland Sector SP Singh honored officers and men with Director General's commendation disc and certificate earlier on raising day ceremony at Langjing Camp.
Deputy Commandant RV Philip, Assistant Commandant DS Rana and Devesh Kumar of 69 BN were also decorated with disc for their commendable work done during state assembly election.
Addressing the troops on the occasion, SP Singh lauded the contribution of force since the Hot spring incident of October 21, 1959 - a heroic day observed all over India as "Police Commemoration day" on account of the sacrifice of CRPF soldiers while resisting Chinese aggregation.
He also mentioned the present contribution of CRPF in areas affected by extremism of left wing and in restoring peace.
While congratulating the Officers, he exhorted them to work harder and outdo their performance and to live up to the guiding spirit of the Force.
