Loumi Lup demands adequate compensation

After going on a round of field assessment about the damages wreaked by flood in different areas of Thoubal and Bishnupur districts, the Loumi Lup of CPI Manipur State Council has demanded the State Government to provide adequate compensation to all the affected cultivators as well as fish farmers.
A Loumi Lup team led by its president N Mangi today visited flood affected areas of Kumbi A/C namely Thamnapokpi, Phumlou, Khajingkhombi, Wangoo Khunjao, Ithai Loukhong, Tangjeng Ahallup Turel Wangma, Pombikhok and Borayangbi.
They also visited Wangoothong, Khongoo, Wangoo Tera Sandangkhong and Chairen located within Sugnu A/C as well as some places of Heirok A/C.Apart from inundating vast tracts of paddy fields and a large number of fish farms, thousands of people have been rendered homeless as their houses have been flooded.
Later speaking to media persons, Mangi urged the Government to provide adequate compensation for all the paddy crops and fish farms destroyed or ravaged by flood.
He further demanded the Government to provide immediate relief materials to people living in relief camps.
