Kangpokpi shouts hosanna on Palm Sunday

Kangpokpi, April 05 2020:
Lockdown owing to the pandemic COVID-19 put the Christian community in Kangpokpi DHQs observed Palm Sunday, the start of the Holy Week, at home today.
Earlier, on Palm Sunday in the town, special Palm Sunday service had been organized by all Churches while Palm Sunday procession was the highlight of the program.
However, owing to suspension of Church service due to the Nationwide lockdown this year, the Christian community at Kangpokpi DHQs observed Palm Sunday at their respective home.
The Kangpokpi Town Churches Fellowship (KTCF) yesterday issued a public notice for all Churches in the town stating that, "to commemorate the triumphal entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, every Christian family in the town shall observed Palm Sunday at their respective home" .
It also said that exactly at 10 am, the family member should go out from their house and shout, 'Hosanna' as a mark to commemorate the heroic entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem.
As instructed by the KTCF, Kangpokpi Town was echoed of 'Hosanna' in the morning today.
Every Christian family came from their respective home, holding tree leaves and shouting, "Hosanna to the son of David, "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, "Hosanna in the highest heaven" .
Some Christian family were also seen processing within the campus and shouting Hosanna while some stand in their porch and shout Hosanna.
KTCF later expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the Christian family and all the Churches in the town for the Palm Sunday celebration by following the KTCF instruction.
The Christian community also prayed for the Government of Manipur, the Chief Minister, Ministers, MLAs, bureaucrats, health officials and workers, police officials and personnel, media personnel, and other frontline workers in combating the highly contiguous pandemic COVID-19 .
