Nipamacha fondly recalled on death anniversary

The 7th death anniversary of former Chief Minister Wahengbam Nipamacha was observed at his residence at Wangoi Wahengbam Leikai today.
The event which was organised by Senior Citizens for Society, Wangoi Chapter, was attended by Wangoi AC MLA as well as Vice Chairman of Manipur Infrastructure Development Agency (MIDA), O Lukhoi and Senior Citizens For Society Wangoi Chapter president H Chandra as the presidium members.
Speaking at the observation, MLA O Lukhoi said that late Nipamacha, who was the Chief Minister of the State for two terms, worked hard for the people of the State, particularly the people of Wangoi AC as well as the future generations.

He then assured to carry on Nipamacha's legacy and vision and work towards achieving the goals set by Nipamacha in the interest of the people.
Stating that late Nipamacha played a huge role in the establishment of Senior Citizens for Society, Wangoi Chapter, MLA O Lukhoi said that he is still taking the advice of the society when it comes to many pressing issues.
The MLA also appreciated the society and its members for successfully organising the observation every year.
Next year, a trust will be set up in Nipamacha's honour and the event will be observed in a much bigger manner.
The members of the society have been consulted in this regard as well, he added.
Wife of late Nipamacha, Wahengbam (O) Maipak, Senior Citizens For Society Wangoi Chapter vice presidents W Nilamani, Kh Sarat and W Amutombi were also present as well.
Floral tributes were paid to the photo of Nipamacha as a part of the observation.
