Imphal, January 11 2014 :
BJP vice president and spokesperson Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has accused Chief Minister O Ibobi of pocketing major portions of the funds sanctioned by the Centre during the last 10 years or so for his personal aggrandisement.
Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi arrived at Imphal together with fellow spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman today.
They addressed two election meetings at Kongba Sadoubung ground, Imphal East and Sangaiyumpham Lamdaibung ground, Thoubal district before leaving for Delhi.
Addressing the two meetings which were attended by a huge number of people, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that like Chief Minister O Ibobi, Chief Ministers of all Congress-ruled States have been swindling funds sanctioned for public welfare without ever letting them reach the people.

There is no case of misappropriation of public fund in BJP-ruled States.
He went on to aver that Chief Minister O Ibobi is not interested in public administration but is well known for corruption and graft practices.
The issue of insurgency and other problems being witnessed in Manipur because of lack of employment avenues is a gift of long years of Congress party's misrule.
Whereas as Congress party was stoking communal conflicts during their rule, they have been blaming BJP for the same, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said.
Claiming that BJP never toed the communal line, the vice president asserted that BJP views all communities, religions, castes and creeds equally.
Nirmala Sitharaman called upon the people of Manipur to study whether the Congress Governments of the Centre and the State should be reinstated to power or not.
People need to take a collective stand if the incumbent Government should be toppled.
Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has been elected to power for three successive terms just like Chief Minister O Ibobi but there is a gulf of difference between the two States with Gujarat advancing far more ahead, Nirmala Sitharaman remarked.
Narendra Modi has succeeded in providing jobs to at least one or two member(s) of each and every household thereby considerably improving the State's economy.
But Chief Minister O Ibobi has achieved little success in this area.
It is this difference which the people of Manipur should analyse, she asserted.
Saying that North Eastern States are being given special attention, Nirmala remarked that Congress party is not serious enough on the issue of border fencing.
Nonetheless BJP is deeply concerned with the issue and it has been discussed at the highest level of the party.
Informing that Narendra Modi would land at Imphal on February 8 for sure, Sitharaman said that Narendra Modi would personally announce what he would like to do to bring about rapid economic development of Manipur.
BJP State president Th Chaoba and many other leaders were also present at the two public meetings.
