Snake rescued

Imphal, January 11 2014 :
People for Animals, Thoubal, rescued a young Green Trinket Snake (Elaphe prasina) from Thoubal Sabaltongba today.
Based on specific inputs, a rescue team of the PFA rushed to Thoubal Sabaltongba and rescued the snake.
The non venomous snake was found by twin sisters namely Sanasam Roji and Sanasam Rojita who are in Class II .
The snake will be released at a suitable site shortly, the PFA said.
Meanwhile, two young Barn Owls (Tyto alba) were handed over to the PFA by Prof N Ibotombi, Dr Salam Opendra, Sanasam Subhamenon and Heisnam Sanatomba of Manipur University on Jan 2.The owls were released yesterday.
Another one young Barn Owl was also handed over by Prof Maibam Ranjit, President Manipur University Teachers Association (MUTA), Prof S Ibotombi, Secy MUTA and T Tomba of Manipur University yesterday.
It will be released shortly.
