Ministry orders retention of seized cash

Imphal, January 11 2014 :
The Ministry of Home Affairs on December 11, 2013 issued an order under Section 25 (3) of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 for the retention of the cash of Rs.1.14 crore seized from the possession of Manoj Kumar Gupta of Bangalore on the grounds that the same is a part proceeds of terrorism of PREPAK-UPPK, a proscribed terrorist organization of Manipur.
� On December 26, 2013, the Ministry also sanction for prosecution for filing the supplementary charge sheet against the accused person was given under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 in a case relating to the members of the proscribed terrorist organisation, Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) having involvement of a criminal conspiracy to wage war against the Government of India.� Moreover, the Ministry of Home Affairs has conveyed the approval for construction of three Model Police Stations at Mizoram, Manipur and Rajasthan and released Rs.3.00 crore (one crore each to the three Model Police Stations) on December 26, 2013 .
