The youth department of the Evangelical Synod Church (ESC) has planned a massive three-day Youth Conference at its Secretariat complex in Chiengkonpang with the intention of reviving youths to lead a pious life.
Addressing media persons today, the conference organisers said they expect not less than 3000 youths during the event which will begin on Jan 16 and go on till Jan 19 .
The conference is planned with a budget ceiling of Rs 10 lakh.
The ESC has around 42 Churches in all and the interaction and talent hunt planned during the conference is expected to bring younger members of the Church nearer to newer spiritual and physical attainment.
It will also served as a platform to exhibit their talents.
A special event to explore the youths' talents was also on the menu where Choir groups from Mizoram, other local Churches and that of the organisers' are the other crowd pulling items.
Playing the Gawsem, Tumgit (drum), Phenglawng (kitchen funnel), Pengkun (bagpipes) and handicraft, choreography, solo, preaching skill are some of the items the organisers said were planned for the talent hunt.
The conference will also have an entire day dedicated to seminars on four topics on youth themes such as, youth's role in the family, in economic planning and development, in protecting the environment and in the Church.
The event is intended to have a unique end as the organisers have planned to launch a historic Manipur Christian Library once they wind up the event, and expected that project to be completed within 4 years.
