Death toll climbs to 2113

Imphal, March 02 2022:
The death toll due to Covid infections has risen to 2113 as one fully vaccinated woman from Kangpokpi succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours.
At least 32 fresh Covid cases including four CAPF personnel were also reported in the same period, taking the cumulative cases to 1,36,835, as per a statement issued by the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
The positive cases were confirmed at RIMS (2), JNIMS (1) and other testing centres (29) while those from general population are from Imphal East (4), Imphal West (12), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (1), Kangpokpi (2), Senapati (1), Tamenglong (1), Tengnoupal (1), Churachandpur (1) and Ukhrul (1) .
As 1397 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, the daily positivity thus registered was 2.3 percent.
Today, 28 persons were discharged from Home Isolation (17), RIMS (3), JNIMS (2) and CCCs (6), thereby increasing the recovered cases to 1,34,416 .
The recovery rate on the other hand stands at 98.23 percent while there are 306 active cases at present.
The State distributed 434 D-type and 155 B type oxygen cylinders yesterday and also administered 3004 Covid vaccine doses on the same day.
Currently, there are 280 vacant Covid beds at JNIMS and another 81 at RIMS.
The State has fully vaccinated 48.7 percent of its eligible population while 61.04 percent have received the first dose till yesterday.
