UCC, YWC notch up easy wins in Luwangpokpa T-20

Imphal, January 13 2024:
UCC thrashed YAC by 10 wickets as YWC scripted a 4-wicket victory against KCC in the 4th MNCA Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy on Saturday.
UCC bowled out YAC for 69 in 17.5 overs after the latter chose to bat first.
It was a collective bowling effort that saw Laishram Bhuson Singh claim three scalps, Diamond Moirangthem and Leishangthem Bishorjit two wickets apiece, and Jenish Pukhrambam and Konsam Gulson Singh bag one each to lay the foundation of UCC's victory.
Only Indrakumar Wahengbam (29) and Abocha Laishram (11) managed double digit scores in YAC's innings.
After their brilliant bowling display, UCC needed just 6 overs to complete the chase for their emphatic win courtesy of Bicky Kumar Das (32 not out) and Leishangthem Bishorjit (29 not out) .
YWC, meanwhile, outplayed KCC by 4 wickets at Model Hr Secondary & Oriental College Ground, Imphal.
KCC elected to bat but were dismissed for 82 in 18.4 overs with Nongmaithem Dijaraj Singh (31), Rohen Singh (16) and Nameirakpam Arbin Singh (10) being the notable contributors to the team score.
For YWC, Ngangbam Bishwash Singh was the pick of the bowlers, taking 4 wickets.
As Yenshenbam Vivek and Maibam Subash Singh chipped in with 2 wickets each, and Soubam Robinson Singh and Pukhrambam Prashantamani Singh got one each.
YWC then achieved the target in 18.3 overs with 4 wickets to spare.
Seram Robinson (29), Soubam Robinson Singh (23 not out) and Ngangbam Bingson Singh (13 not out) were key contributors in their run chase.
In the process, YWC lost 3 wickets to Singthoi Singh Nandeibam and one each to Yumnam Sheiteendra Singh, Wahengbam Somorjit Singh and Nameirakpam Arbin Singh.
Meanwhile, WYC were given a walkover against YUCC.
