D Lanlilung Kabui remembered

Kabui Dharma Sabha Manipur observed the 62nd death anniversary of D Lanlilung Kabui, popularly known as 'Kokadan Tomba', today at Meitei Langol Yumjao Manbi Leikai, Imphal West district.
In a release, Kabui Dharma Sabha Manipur informed that the ceremony began with the Kabui ritual of 'Kabhaomei' followed by offering of floral tributes to a photograph of the prominent tribal leader.
During the ceremony presided by Kabui Dharma Sabha Manipur president L Kabui, the gathering recalled the numerous contributions made by D Lanlilung for the betterment of the society.
D Lanlilung was the Khulakpa of Kokadan village in Churachandpur district and the Durbar Member of Manipur during the reign of Maharaj Churachand Singh.
In recognition of his works, the king also decorated him with 'Khamen Chatpa' .
He was the founder president of Dangmei Kaikhong.
He also launched various Kirtans for the Kabui community including Balu in 1930, Tarangkai in 1940, Lakpui Kai in 1953 and Hoi Kai in 1961 .
