WFA: ESU stroll; FC Imphal, KRYPHSA split pts

Eastern Sporting Union (ESU) handed a crushing 6-1 defeat to Women Football Academy (WFA) while FC Imphal and KRYHPSA shared the spoils in the 14th AMFA Senior Women's Football League 2023-24 at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong on Saturday.
Both Naorem Henarita Devi and Longjam Nira Chanu scored twice in ESU's emphatic win over WFA.
In the early stage, WFA were the first side to take the lead when Pukhrambam Mira Devi found the back of the net in the 4 th minute.
After conceding the goal, ESU fought back strongly and were never in doubt as they controlled the game, raining goals on the opposition.
Sanabam Uma Chanu set the tone for ESU's strong first-half fight-back, scoring the equaliser in the 9th minute.
Then Naorem Henarita Devi converted in the 12th minute to put ESU ahead as Chandam Anjali Devi made it 3-1 in the 18th minute while Henarita (40+3) and Nira Chanu (40+4) struck in quick succession to make sure their team went into the second half with a commanding 5-1 lead.
ESU, however, could add only one goal in the second period through Nira's second and team's sixth goal in the 52nd minute.
In a keenly contested game, FC Imphal and KRYPHSA settled for a goalless draw.
