Ukhrul, January 13 2024:
A team of Advance Development Organization (ADO) of Lamlang Pharung and Seikhor village led by ADO chairman Wungpam Riphung accompanied by media persons today conducted a spot inspection of the ongoing road construction work from New Haven to Talui junction in Ukhrul district constructed under Central Road & Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) .
The construction work of this particular stretch of road from New Haven is in progress deploying heavy machinery at the work site.
Riphung said the Imphal-Ukhrul (old) is an important road for the western villages of Ukhrul district and is the shortest route that connects District Headquarters with the State capital.
However, after realignment and construction of a new highway from New Haven to Ukhrul via Shokvao, Ramva and Hungpung, it has been left in a deplorable condition.

Further ADO appealed to the Government, Works Minister and Department concerned to expedite the work for the project "Improvement of Imphal - Ukhrul Road (Old) from New Haven to Tolloi Junction (Phase-l) under CRIF" and monitor the quality as per the work order considering the urgent need of restoring the road to ease transportation woes of the people of the region.
