Plastic free campus campaign launched

In a commendable initiative towards environmental sustainability, a plastic free campus campaign has been launched at the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Government Polytechnic College and CI College, Bishnupur.
The campaign to eliminate single-use plastics across the above mentioned college campuses is being supported by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Manipur.
A press release by ABVP Manipur said that the milestone achievement reflects the institutions' commitment to environmental stewardship and aligns with global efforts to reduce plastic waste.
ABVP Unit at NIELIT, Government Polytechnic College and CI College, Bishnupur has played a pivotal role in driving awareness and mobilizing the student body towards this transformative goal.
Through innovative campaigns, workshops and sustainable practices, ABVP Unit has actively engaged students in adopting eco-friendly alternatives and promoting responsible waste management.
The plastic free campus campaign encompasses various measures including the introduction of biodegradable alternatives, waste segregation programs and educational initiatives to raise awareness about the environmental impacts of plastic pollution, added the press release.
