Aimed at sustaining Manipur's reputation as an acknowledged power home of indian football through tapping of talents from the grassroots a football coaching camp has commenced from today under the aegis of the 109 Bn CRPF at its Mongshangei headquarters ground.
The formal inauguration of the coaching camp was inaugurated by IGP CRPF (Manipur & Nagaland) RC Tayal (IPS) as the chief guest and was also graced by the presence of DIGP CRPF (Imphal Range) MS Raghava and DIGP CRPF (Group Centre) PS Rajora.
A statement issued by Commandant 109 Bn CRPF Rajesh Dhakarwal expressed confidence that the two month long coaching camp for 15 local boys of Mongshangei area will help spot budding talents and enable them become professional players later on.
The coaching camp, organised under the civic action programme of the CRPF, is being held under the supervision of AFC-C certificate holder Kenkrak Singh of Laipham Khunou Mamang Leikai, the statement maintained.
RC Tayal also distributed football kits to all the 15 participants, it added.
