NGOs working in the field of HIV/AIDS have appealed to the DGP urging to bring to book all those involved in the brutal murder of Noinoisana.
Noinoisana alias German (18) was found murdered at an isolated field in Malom yesterday.
In a joint complaint submitted to the DGP, Manipur Network of Positive People, SASO, Bosco Mangal, Care Foundation and Users Manipur urged upon the DGP to pull up and give exemplary punishment to all those involved in the killing of German.
They mentioned that German, besides being an orphan, was infected by HIV and was taking ART drugs in JN Hospital.
The complaint alleged that Noinoisana was subjected to harassment by her aunt (father's sister) and uncle (aunt's husband).
Meanwhile, German's aunt Leishangthem Dandan, uncle L Santa and their son, James alias Abosana (21) apprehended by police in connection with the murder of German have been remanded to police custody till April 16 by the CJM Bishnupur today.
Speaking to media persons at the Yaiskul office of MNP+, German's aunt (father's sister-in-law) Memchoubi said that Dandan and Santa used to teased German with such abusive words like 'diseased infected', 'weakling' etc besides thrashing the boy regularly.
They also confiscated and threw away ART drugs used by the boy.
MNP+, SASO, Bosco Mangal, Kripa Foundation and users Manipur have been extending education, nutrition and medicine support to German.
MNP+ vice-president W Ajitshwar said that the murder of German was a challenge to all people living with HIV and AIDS.
"We cannot tolerate such savage murder of an innocent boy who was already suffering a lot", he said.
Asserting that the PLWHAs too have the right to life, he appealed to the Government to enact an effective law or policy to safeguard rights to PLWHAs.
Bosco Mangal project manager Bimolata said that German himself had told them about the harassment he suffered.
Memchoubi lamented, "I loved and treated German as my own son but I could not save him.
The murderers have taken the life of my young son".
