MTI Pro-Amateur National Muay Thai C'ship : State team bring home 8 medals including 7 gold, feted

Imphal, August 21 2023: The Manipur Muay Thai team who brought home 8 medals including 7 gold and 1 bronze from the 9th MTI Pro- Amateur National Muay Thai Championships were feted today by the Manipur Amateur Muay Thai Association today upon their arrival at Imphal International Airport.

The championship was held from August 18 to 20 at Global Divinity Mall, Bangalore under the aegis of National Federation Amateur Muay Thai India.

In the championship, Yumkhaibam Almas (38-40 kg), Yumkhaibam Khurshid (40-42 kg), Jahid Ahmed (48-51 kg), Laishram Rakesh (54-57 kg) won gold medals in the junior boys competitions as Md Jahit Khan settled for a bronze medal in the 60-63.5 kg category competition.

In the senior category competitions, Muhammed Azad (48-51 kg), Mohammed Azan (51-54 kg) and Khulakpam Abdul Shah Nawaz (54 to 57 kg) bagged gold medals.

The State team were led by Md Alauddin Shah and Md Rafi as team coach and manager respectively.
