TNL decries August 18 killing in Ukhrul

Ukhrul, August 21 2023:
Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) has strongly condemned the August 18 attack in which three Kuki villagers were killed, reiterating that Ukhrul district had so far maintained a 'neutral zone' in the present unrest in Manipur.
In a press statement, TNL president David K Shimray said that it was really pained to see violence taking place in the district.
"We strongly condemn the killing of three villagers of Thawai Kuki Village by unidentified miscreants on the August 18 and call for restrain among the various communities and appeal for maintaining peace in Tangkhul area" .
He said that Tangkhul area has been very peaceful since the "Manipur Unrest" that broke out on May 3, 2023 and added that that TNL had already declared and made known to everyone that Tangkhul area would be a "Neutral Zone".
Reiterating that its call for a "Neutral Zone", Shimray added, "We will not tolerate violence to be committed or take place in our land" .
