Three children from London aid relief camp

Bevin Okram (17), Swarna Okram (15) and Lamnganba Okram (13), who are children of Knowledge Exchange Network (KEN) Boston, USA president Bishwajit Okram and Kings College Hospital, London Home Haemodialysis deputy manager Bijenti Okram, on Sunday donated money they had collected from their friends to the relief camp set up at Kalyan Ashram, Kakching Sumak Leikai.
The monetary aid along with cloths donated by KEN was handed over by the trio accompanied by their parents and Jivan Hospital, Kakching managing director Dr Yengkhom Ashok Kumar to Peace Committee District Administration, Kakching vice president Yengkhom Nilachandra.
Speaking to media persons, Swarna Okram disclosed that in London funds are being raised in churches for aiding Kukis by spreading misinformation that Meeteis are repressing Christians in Manipur.
As such, during their school festival they created awareness that Meeteis are not subjugating Christians in Manipur along with raising funds for the violence-affected Meetei people.
On the other hand, Bishwajit Okram of Thoubal Ningombam, but presently living at London, conveyed that KEN, Boston has been keeping a close eye on news about conflict in Manipur and has been aiding various relief camps in the state.
He continued that KEN has been collecting documents and uploading them on internet to counter the false propaganda spread on the present crisis in state, Bishwajit further appealed all to refrain from any act that violates rights of women, children and the weak as it will not be accepted by the world and will show the perpetrators in poof light.
