Senapati, January 17 2024: The Minister for Veterinary and Animal Husbandry and Transport, Khasim Vashum today kicked off XXIII Poumai Naga Tsiidoumai Me Tournament 2024 at Pyamaro Pitch (Sports Field), Tungjoy village, Senapati district under the theme "Nurturing Talents" .

The Minister also unveiled the monolith of the XXIII PNTM Tournament 2024 .

Speaking as the chief guest of the inaugural function of the sporting event, Khasim Vashum conveyed his greetings to the gathering on behalf of the Chief Minister N Biren Singh who was to formally open the tournament but could not attend the programme due to some unavoidable circumstances.

Highlighting CM's endeavour to bring development in the area, the Minister called upon village authorities to identify sites where playgrounds can be developed with the assistance of the State Government.

He maintained that the State Government is ready to sanction a sum of Rs 20 lakh for development of eco-tourism and home stay in the village.

He further said, if required additional fund may be sought from PWD for renovation and repairing of Inspection Bungalow.

He went on to add that a proposed ring road development programme of which was stalled due to a Court case a few years back will be added in the new programme with the settlement of the case.

While seeking co-operation from all sections of the society to help elected representatives to bring maximum development in the area, the Minister also urged all participants to maintain game spirit, discipline, hard work and patience.

Colourful cultural programmes presented by the host village, game oath administration and an exhibition football match between PNTM officials and senior leaders were the highlights of the inaugural programme which was also attended by MH Khan, Additional Chief Secretary; SDOs, various CSO leaders, village leaders, students and others.
