State Family Welfare and Health Minister, Ph Parijat today said that CPI is efforting to strengthen the party not for power but for achieving the goal of bringing a society where there is no discriminate towards the weaker and poor section of the society.
CPI has been organising various political conference at the grass root level not for contesting election for formation of government but to strengthen the party and fight for the cause of poor and weaker section of the society and push them up for a socialist society, Minister Parijat said speaking at political conference of the Keirao Local Council of CPI in Imphal east today.
The party is not like with other political parties, it has its separate ideology and adhered in it in its functioning and working.
Out of 25 lakh heads of people of the state more than 5 lakh are not getting employment and they are living without having working place.
When so much education men are living in such awful state how the state can be developed, he asked.
While trying to make satisfied and for the welfare of a few capitalists, Congress led UPA government at New Delhi is unable to control the hiking of prices of the essential commodities to suffer a lot to the poor section of the society, Parijat criticized.
Even though BJP and Congress make policies favouring few capitalists and industrialists, CPI is standing for crores of poor people of the country and will remain to do so, Parijat said alleging that the prices of the essential commodities have been hiked by the UPA government at the Centre for the sake of welfare of the around 580 companies across the country.
Despite a coalition partner of the Congress in the SPF government in the state, CPI continued to fight for the cause of the weaker and poor people and also taking part in various issues of the people against the state government.
Still CPI is demanding setting up of High Protection Force considering the frequent disturbances given on the highways in state and for the protection of territorial integrity of the state.
Apart from health and family welfare minister, former minister, Dr M Nara, CPI state secretary, L Iboyaima, executive member Th Yaiskul, state secretariat member A Lala, members of Keirao Gram Panchayat W Radha, K Naobi and A Echal talked at the local conference.
